A heartwarming moment was spotted in Toa Payoh when a Beatty Secondary School student was seen helping an elderly woman cross a busy road on Sept 17.

Stomper Cherie, who shared a photo of the scene, said it was touching to see the young student offering her support as motorists stopped to let them pass.

"It was a simple but thoughtful gesture that really stood out," said Tay. "Small actions like this can make a big difference for seniors navigating busy streets."

Tay added that the scene was a reminder of how road safety is a shared responsibility.

"When young people look out for the elderly and drivers show patience, it makes the community safer and kinder," she said.

She also felt that acts like this deserve recognition as they show compassion in everyday life and set a good example for others.

In response to a Stomp query, Beatty Secondary School said:

"This act of kindness perfectly exemplifies our school value of Empathy.

"At Beatty Secondary, we strive to nurture compassionate young citizens who contribute positively to society.

"We commend our student for this act of service and for being a positive ambassador of our school values in the community."
