A man involved in a crash with four vehicles at Telok Blangah will be charged on Nov 7 for multiple offences, including dangerous driving and failing to stop after an accident.

Through extensive ground inquiries and CCTV footage, the 34-year-old man was arrested on Nov 5, at an industrial building in the vicinity of Kaki Bukit, said a police spokesperson. Preliminary investigations revealed that he was disqualified from driving following a prior conviction in 2024.

The offence of driving whilst under disqualification carries a fine of up to $10,000, or imprisonment of up to three years, or both.

Clips of the incident, showing a red car driving across a road divider onto the opposite lane before accelerating away, went viral on the SG Road Vigilante Facebook page.

The driver is later seen fleeing on foot.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) told Stomp that it was alerted to a road traffic accident near the junction of Telok Blangah Drive and Telok Blangah Street 32 at 8.35 am, and one person was taken to Singapore General Hospital.

Police said the car had mounted a kerb, and sped off when officers approached to check on the driver. During the pursuit, the driver collided with two other cars, a van, and a bus, before fleeing on foot.

An e-vaporiser was also found in the car.

The police added that a 48-year-old male driver was conveyed conscious to the hospital.
