Four youths brought new meaning to the concept of shared bicycles at Pasir Ris Park.

Two of them were riding a bicycle, each with one passenger seated in the front basket.

Stomper Anonymous shared a clip of the incident, which occurred on March 15 at around 7.56am, showing several teenagers cycling past.

One cyclist on an Anywheel bicycle can be seen riding with another youth in the bicycle’s basket. Both are facing each other.

Seconds later, another cyclist on a HelloRide bicycle is seen ferrying a passenger who is similarly riding pillion in the bicycle’s basket. Both riders are facing the front.

The Stomper said it was her first time witnessing such behaviour and described the teens as “misusing the bikes”.

She added that they were “laughing and giggling” as they rode past her.

However, this is not the first time users of shared bicycles have been spotted cycling with a passenger in the front basket.

Previous Stomp reports include a woman criticised by netizens for sitting in the front basket of a HelloBike shared bicycle in Tampines and a boy who was caught in a similar act in Woodlands.

Both HelloRide and AnyWheel have urged their users to ride safely during trips.
