Woman upset after Koufu stall overcharges, then refunds her $0.80 for yong tau foo: 'It's still money'
A customer felt cheated after she was allegedly charged an extra $0.80 for her yong tau foo at Punggol Plaza's Koufu outlet.
Stomper XX said she visited the yong yau foo stall on Nov 15 at 8.59pm.
"I took six items, plus one noodle, so the total should be seven items," she recounted. "However, the auntie charged me $6.40 for eight items instead of $5.60. My dad asked for a refund, but she refused."
According to XX, the food court manager came and "also counted seven items".
However, the auntie apparently said XX had added seaweed.
XX added: "LOL! Can anyhow bomb ah? I did not order that item."
The Stomper was eventually given a refund, but she explained: "Even though it's just $0.80, it's still money. What if other customers are cheated of even more money? I wonder how many customers have experienced this."
XX also shared a TikTok video of the incident on Nov 16, with the on-screen caption in capital letters: "Beware cheat people money scam".
Some users lamented rising food costs, while others said they would "boycott" the stall.
"We just want to have reasonable prices," one netizen said.
Others noted that such incidents are not uncommon, saying that customers should state their orders clearly to avoid such misunderstandings.
