Woman confused after being given upsized iced kopi at Pasir Ris Koufu without asking
A diner was left puzzled after being handed a large iced kopi siew dai at Koufu when she did not specify the cup size.
Stomper Maleen said she had ordered a drink at the Koufu outlet at Pasir Ris West Plaza on May 19 at around 7pm when she received a larger-than-expected beverage.
"I was shocked that I was given a big cup of beverage when I didn't specify the size that I wanted," she told Stomp.
"When I asked them about it, their answer was simply, 'Yes'.
"They then said if we didn't specify, it would be auto-treated as a big cup."
"Why wasn't a small size given instead of a big one? It's kind of like forcing us to drink more."
The Stomper said the large drink cost $2.30.
"I'm not too sure of the prices as I seldom go to Koufu," she added, estimating that a small cup would typically be around $1.80.
"I think it's not right. Any coffee shop owner or assistant I've gone to - besides Koufu - would usually ask whether I wanted a small or big cup."
