Customer shocked by $8 mutton portion: Tampines restaurant says it continuously reviews its pricing

Original article:

A woman was shocked, then upset, after dining at an eatery at Tampines Street 43.

Stomper Leesza said she visited Srisun Express on the morning of July 17.

She ordered a few dishes and the total bill came up to $31.70, including the goods and services tax (GST).

The Stomper recounted: "I ordered one portion of mutton and it cost me $8.18 (inclusive of 9% GST). Upon being served the food, I was shocked by the mutton portion.

"I went to the counter and ask and the man replied that it was supposed to be like that, about five to six pieces of mutton.

"I asked how can it be. He told me that the price of raw mutton has risen to $32 for 1kg and said, 'If you think the price is high, you go other place.'

"He replied in such a rude and arrogant way."

Leesza added sarcastically: "The mutton was really super big. One piece was half of my thumb and the remaining five pieces were as big as half of a newborn baby's thumb.

"I was very disappointed with the counter service and their response."

This is not the first time someone has complained about the same eatery.

Stomper Duan felt that he was overcharged during his visit on Feb 10.

"I was charged 10 per cent GST instead of 9 per cent at Srisun Express Tampines," he had alleged.
