Water gushing at Bukit Panjang void deck for hours due to faulty valve
Water was seen gushing out at the void deck of a Senja Road HDB block on Nov 25, with the incident lasting for several hours before it was fixed.
Stomper Jk said the water had been rushing out since about 4pm and continued until after 8pm before someone arrived to repair the issue.
He initially thought the leak was caused by a pipe.
In response to a Stomp query, Holland-Bukit Panjang Town Council said investigations confirmed that wear and tear of the ball float valve had caused water to overflow from the water tank, leading to the gushing seen at the void deck.
All pipes and components were inspected during the incident and found to be in normal working condition.
The overflow was stopped that same evening, and the defective ball float valve has since been replaced.
