Trans-Cab apologised again after another one of its taxi drivers was caught on camera smoking in his vehicle and littering along the road on Aug 6.

Stomper Anonymous shared dashcam footage of the incident, which took place on Still Road on the afternoon of Aug 6.

The cabby can be seen smoking out of the window before throwing his cigarette butt onto the road.

This followed a similar incident involving another Trans-Cab driver on the Pan-Island Expressway on July 18 reported by Stomp.

A Trans-Cab spokesperson told Stomp then that the company had educated the driver that smoking is not permitted in the vehicle and he shouldn't be throwing the cigarette butt on the road.

"Once again, we extend our apologies on behalf of the driver and we will continue to educate our drivers on the importance of quality service," added the spokesperson.

Yet it has happened again but with a different cabby.

"I think Trans-Cab is not getting the message across to their drivers," said the Stomper.

"I believe Trans-Cab really needs to set the standard right instead of paying lip service to the public."

In response to a Stomp query regarding the Aug 6 incident, a Trans-Cab spokesperson apologised for the "unpleasant incident" with the cabby.

"In this case, we have educated the driver that smoking in the vehicle and littering on the floor is not permitted. Also, we have urged him to always maintain utmost condition of the vehicle before picking up passengers," said the spokesperson.

"We have filed this case in his service record and we will continue to monitor the service render by the driver. We will take further action on him should there be any similar incident happen again

"Once again, we extend our apologies on behalf of the driver and we will continue to educate our drivers on the importance of service quality.

"We assure you that we have taken the necessary steps to remedy the situations."
