A resident has raised ongoing concerns about persistent littering at the void deck of Block 217 Serangoon Avenue 4.

Stomper M shared photos with Stomp showing various discarded items strewn across the communal space, including empty drink cans and cigarette packs.

He said: "Residents keep littering almost every day, making it harder for conservancy cleaners to clean up."

The Stomper has raised the issue with Stomp before.

He reported the matter to the National Environment Agency (NEA), which sent an officer down to inspect the area.

However, NEA was unable to identify the individual or individuals responsible.

M also reported the issue to Aljuned-Hougang Town Council (AHTC), but said the problem has persisted despite his efforts.

"No action has been taken by the town council," he said. "People should not bully the conservancy cleaners."

In response to a Stomp query, an AHTC spokesperson said: "The town council has been following up on the resident's regular feedback, including activating our conservancy cleaners and contractors to address the issues raised.

"We have not been able to firmly establish that the acts of littering were committed by a lone perpetrator. Nevertheless, posters have already been put up to reinforce our efforts to educate residents on practising good neighbourliness and maintaining a clean living environment."

AHTC advises residents to provide feedback about smoking in prohibited areas by calling the National Environment Agency (NEA) at 1800-CALL-NEA (1800-2255-632), via the OneService app, or through the website at www.nea.gov.sg/feedback.
