A resident at Block 7 Telok Blangah Crescent was shocked to find a concerning letter in his mailbox.

Stomper Anonymous shared with Stomp that he found a mysterious letter in the mail on June 29 demanding money, but not from him.

"It said that someone in this block owes money, but I don't even know this resident," said the Stomper.

"The sender threatened to lock doors and burn houses."

The letter included a photo of a man's identity card, along with the words "shame on you".

It also revealed the resident's phone number and bank account number.

On July 12, the Stomper received new letters that had a threatening tone.

One letter read: "Owe money, pay money. If still no response, we will take action to lock your doors and burn your house and post your photo. This is the last warning, don't regret!!"

Alarmed by the threats of arson, the Stomper said: "This one person's debt has nothing to do with the rest of us.

"We should not be receiving threats in our letterboxes.

"I hope the authorities can step in as soon as possible."

In response to a Stomp query, the police confirmed that a report was lodged and that they are looking into the matter.

Earlier this month, Stomp reported on another resident in Punggol who received a visit from licensed debt collectors over a loan he never took.

Could this be another similar situation?
