From banking halls to magazine covers, self-professed model Lena Li has now apparently added another milestone to her unconventional journey.

The 35-year-old reached out to Stomp to share that she was "thrilled" to be the first Singaporean nominated for the 'Emerging Star' award at this year's Influencer Magazine Awards (IMA), which she sees as a major milestone in her journey from the corporate world to the glamour spotlight.

"It's a recognition that reflects my bold journey from banking to glamour modelling, backed by my PhD in Business and Law and my growing global media presence," she told Stomp.

Reportedly born to a Chinese father and French mother, Lena said she is single and lives in Singapore with her elderly parents.

She said she earned her doctorate from the University of London and credited her multicultural background with shaping her drive to connect with audiences around the world.

According to Lena, she left her role as a public relations manager at Citibank Singapore to pursue part-time modelling while working as a freelance business consultant.

She also claimed to have been featured in publications such as Vogue Monaco as well as Maxim and FHM in Australia.

The IMA is an annual international event celebrating individuals whose personalities, expertise and influence have made a positive impact. This year's ceremony will be held in the UK on Oct 1, with the winner featured on a Times Square billboard in New York City.

Lena told Stomp she is confident she can take home the title.

"I believe I have a strong shot at winning due to my unique story and international appeal, even though the competition in the emerging influencer space is tough," she said.

"I hope to leverage this platform to increase my visibility, inspire others to chase their dreams, and challenge stereotypes, all while remaining deeply grateful to my supporters."
