SBS Transit takes 'action' after bus captain seen driving one-handed from Bedok to Changi

A bus driver operating SBS Transit service 9 was spotted driving with just one hand on the wheel from Bedok to Changi on Oct 8.

Stomper Jonathan, who was on board the bus at about 5.45pm, said the driver had one hand on the steering wheel while resting the other on the window throughout the trip.

He told Stomp: "Shouldn't it be safer to drive with both hands on the wheel?"

In response to a Stomp query, SBS Transit's senior vice-president for corporate communications, Mrs Grace Wu, said: "Our bus captains are trained to drive safely, and this includes keeping both hands on the steering wheel.

"We have taken appropriate action against this bus captain to avoid a repeat of the situation."
