A resident is frustrated that rubbish continues to be dumped around the fire hose chamber at the void deck of Block 130 Bedok Reservoir Road.

This is despite repeated reminders, signages and multiple reports to Aljunied-Hougang Town Council (AHTC).

Stomper Tan said the problem has been happening "for a long, long time", with trash appearing almost every week.

"It happens time and again. Some residents don't seem to understand simple signage," he said.

"They keep dumping their rubbish around the fire hose inlet chamber. Will it distract firemen if there is an emergency?"

He shared photos showing various items left around the chamber. The latest photo was taken on Nov 10, with earlier images dating back to one year ago.

The resident said he has reported the issue to AHTC many times through OneService. While cleaners always clear the rubbish, the cycle repeats as residents continue to dump items at the same spot.

In response to a Stomp query, an AHTC spokesperson said cleaners "routinely clear items left in common areas during their scheduled cleaning rounds".

"Beyond these efforts, we have also been actively conducting educational outreach through various platforms to encourage everyone to help keep shared spaces clean," the spokesperson added.

"We will continue to strengthen these initiatives in our bid to create a cleaner and more pleasant living environment for all. We appreciate residents' cooperation in disposing of trash properly and responsibly, as this plays a vital role in maintaining the estate's cleanliness and comfort."
