A resident has expressed frustration over a personal mobility aid (PMA) that had allegedly been obstructing a staircase at Block 259 Yishun Street 22 for the past two years.

Stomper Anonymous most recently spotted the PMA blocking the staircase on Oct 26 at about 8am.

"I have given feedback to the town council on this issue. Every weekend, this PMA parks under the lobby and causes a lot of obstruction to the public," he said.

He added that the PMA owner had been charging them near the staircase using a power socket connected from inside their flat.

"This has been going on for two years," the Stomper added.

Anonymous said he reported the matter to several authorities, including the police and Nee Soon Town Council, but the situation persisted.

"This family's PMA used to be parked downstairs, now it's in the corridor and blocking the stairs."

In response to a Stomp query, a Nee Soon Town Council spokesperson said it is aware of the feedback regarding charging of the the PMA.

The spokesperson added: "Our team has spoken to the resident involved and advised him to stop charging the device along the common corridor. The resident has since stopped doing so.

"We would like to remind all residents not to charge devices or store items in common areas, as this may pose fire risks and cause obstruction. Keeping shared spaces clear and safe helps ensure a safe and harmonious living environment for everyone."
