Man who allegedly took upskirt video on MRT identified as Xinmin Primary School PE teacher, police investigating

The man who allegedly took an upskirt video on board an MRT train is believed to be a PE teacher from Xinmin Primary School and police investigations into the incident is ongoing.

In an earlier Stomp article, it was reported that a video circulating online shows the man placing his mobile phone on top of his duffel bag with its rear camera facing upwards.

Thereafter, he positioned the bag and the device beneath the skirt of a female passenger behind him, presumably taking an upskirt video.

After the video made its rounds on social media, netizens have identified the man to be a PE teacher from Xinmin Primary School.

Stomp reached out to the school for comment, and received a response from its vice-principal.

He told Stomp in an email: 

"The safety of our students is of top priority.

"The case is under police investigation and the teacher is currently on leave."

Stomp also contacted the police with regard to the incident and they have confirmed that an investigation has been launched.

Said a spokesperson:

"The Police confirm a report was lodged and investigations are ongoing."
