A man was allegedly caught on camera smashing a resident's altar to the ground and attempting to yank down a security camera in Woodlands.

Stompers Sarah and Randy alerted Stomp to CCTV footage of the incident posted on Facebook by Cailyn Yumi on June 22.

In the video, the man is seen banging on the gate of a unit and reaching for the security camera. He then turns towards the parapet and smashes a Chinese altar to the ground.

The clip has since gone viral, garnering more than 500 shares on Facebook and over 65,000 views on TikTok, but has since been removed.

The caption of the Facebook post reads: "We are deeply frustrated and disappointed that the police are not taking this situation seriously. Our neighbour, a man who lives directly below us, has been harassing my mother repeatedly, especially when she's home alone."

According to Cailyn, the neighbour has had a history of conflicts with her family over the past five years, but usually calms down after police intervention.

This time, however, the conflict seems to have escalated: "My mother was simply doing household chores when he reacted aggressively - throwing out her Chinese prayer items, banging on our doors and windows, and even damaging our security camera."

Cailyn shared with Stomp a police report she made, stating the neighbour had previously accused her family of throwing eggs and causing noise disturbances, despite CCTV coverage showing no evidence of the acts.

She believes the confusion stems from another neighbour on the floor above them who causes actual noise disruptions, leading residents living below to wrongly assume the noise is coming from her family's unit.

Neighbours had allegedly accused Cailyn's mother of spraying insect repellent and pouring water out of the window, but she said it is the downstairs neighbour who smokes and cooks near their window.

"This causes smoke and oil to reach our hanging laundry and enter my parents' room, making them cough badly," she shared.

"I politely asked the neighbour to smoke inside instead of near the window, but he denied smoking, saying he had cancer. However, on June 22, when he came up and damaged our property, I saw him smoking with no issue."

Cailyn's mother was also accused of throwing curry sauce in the lobby, but there was no evidence to support the claim.

"The only so-called 'evidence' presented was a photograph of the curry stain, with no clear link to my mother's involvement," she shared. "This leads us to believe the incident may have been staged to deliberately defame her."

Cailyn told Stomp that the man had even reported false accusations to Shin Min Daily News in March 2025.

"Recently, the son of a neighbouring family came to our door in a hostile and aggressive manner," she said.

"Instead of resolving matters calmly, he was caught on video banging loudly on our door and attempting to forcefully open our digital lock, which was later damaged and required warranty repair."

Her family did not escalate the matter or ask for compensation at the time.

Cailyn believes several neighbours have teamed up to unfairly target and blame her mother for general noise disturbances without evidence.

"Noise can originate from multiple units and at various times," she said.

"There is no concrete proof that my mother is the sole cause.

"Moreover, we have video evidence of the same man repeatedly intimidating and threatening my mother, especially when she is home alone and vulnerable.

"There are indications they track her routine-when she wakes and sleeps-and deliberately make disruptive noises at those times. This behaviour amounts to targeted harassment."

She posted footage of another incident on TikTok, where the same man can be seen splattering water on the ground in front of her unit.

Cailyn requests that the false accusations against her family cease and that further complaints be supported by credible evidence.

"My family and I are committed to maintaining a peaceful and respectful environment within our residence and expect the same from our neighbours."

In response to a Stomp query, the police confirmed that reports were lodged and investigations are ongoing.
