Hougang carpark dispute: Mazda driver triggered after BMW driver 'started to play ego games with me'
The Mazda driver who got into a dispute with a BMW driver in a Hougang carpark has contacted Stomp to clarify what happened.
Videos of the incident in the open carpark at Hougang Avenue 5 on Nov 17 were posted online.
The dispute started when the BMW driver honked at the Mazda driver to give way.

The Mazda driver, whose surname is Lin, said: "The BMW was the one that triggered me first because I merely dropped off passengers in the beginning."
Mr Lin claimed: "I did not block the BMW in the first place.
"Based on car camera recording, I dropped off passengers at the shelter. However, the shelter is at the opposite side of the two-way roundabout.
"As I was dropping off passengers, they needed more space to open the doors. So I positioned my car slightly towards the middle of the road since there were no cars around at that time.
"Before the passengers closed my doors, the BMW drove in front of me and blocked my car in the middle, and started giving a short horn."

Stomp reported that Mr Lin had four classes of driving licence.
He clarified: "I have six classes of licence (Class 2B, 2A, 2, 3, 4, 5). Full house."
Mr Lin said he had a reason for showing his licence to the BMW driver.
"The BMW driver started to challenge me and play ego games with me. That triggered me to retort in that manner by showing when I started driving, which was in 2012 when I passed my class 3.
"And then I just showed all my licences in the end since he said I was a new driver."
After the first confrontation, the two drove past each other and Stomp reported that as they did so, Mr Lin took a video of the BMW driver.
He clarified: "I did not video record the BMW with my phone at all. Instead I was holding my driving licence up at the window while driving off the car."

There was another confrontation between the two in the carpark before the BMW diver finally drove off.
Mr Lin reiterated: "Everything that me as the Mazda driver did, was all triggered by the BMW driver who thought he had the right of way, and not being patient enough."
