A group of boys was caught on video smoking under a shelter at Block 484 Segar Road on Oct 14 at around 5.03pm.

Stomper W shared a video of the incident with Stomp, showing the four boys wearing black T-shirts and shorts. They appear to be under 21 years old.

"The big boy seems to be their leader, and he was smoking under the shelter before throwing the cigarette butt on the grass," he said.

"In the 1990s, if a group like this gathered wearing black, all go police station."

In the video, the boys can be seen smoking cigarettes together at the shelter.

One of them, who is seated, flicks his cigarette butt onto the ground at the end of the clip.

According to the Ministry of Health, the minimum legal age for the purchase, use, possession, sale and supply of tobacco products is 21 years old.

Underage smokers who are caught using, buying or having in their possession tobacco products are liable on conviction to a fine of up to $300.

Smoking is also prohibited in most public places, including link-ways and void decks, with a fine of up to $1,000.

Under the Environmental Public Health Act, those found guilty of littering face fines of up to $2,000 for their first conviction, $4,000 for their second one, and $10,000 for third and subsequent convictions.
