Foodpanda delivery takes 1.5 hours from stall 5 min away: User says $7 compensation is too little, too late
A Foodpanda customer was not pleased with the extended wait times she had to endure.
Stomper Jazz said she placed an order with iEat Mini Wok @ 10 Sengkang Square on June 1.
She said: "I ordered it at 6.08pm, and the food arrived at 7.30, but the distance from the store to my home is only a five-to-eight-minute walk."
"There were multiple extensions to the delivery time. The status shows the rider went somewhere else after it changed to 20 to 30 minutes.
"I did receive compensation of $7 after an hour, but it is a self-service option, and the app does not show a compensation option until an hour later."
Jazz was not happy with the delivery platform's customer service.
"What I need to know is whether my food will be delivered and what's happening to it.
"The app provides no platform for customer service when the food is delayed or does not even have any sign of delivery.
"I tried to reach out to cancel or ask for a status but was unable to find a live chat or call number."
The compensation was also insufficient for Jazz.
"Compensation is not something that helps when a person is starving and waiting for their food."
"It can't even cover a two-person meal. I would rather have an on-time delivery, or at least the option to cancel the order so I can go out for food."
Stomp has reached out to Foodpanda for more information.
