Driver on PIE uses phone with one hand and one bent leg
A man was seen using his mobile phone while driving along the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE) towards Tuas on Nov 25.
Stomper Anonymous shared a video of the incident that she witnessed at about 6.40pm.
The video shows the driver of a red car holding a phone in one hand while propping the device on one bent leg.
The driver can also be seen looking at his phone screen before looking back up.
Anonymous alleged that the driver was also "braking very hard".
"He was using the phone on and off. The video was taken during the second time he went on his phone," she said, adding that the driver's leg was bent up "for about 30 to 40 seconds", though she only managed to record the end of it.
The Stomper, who was in a Grab ride with her child when the incident occurred, felt that such behaviour was unsafe.
"I feel like it's ridiculous to have such drivers on the road," she said.
Under the Road Traffic Act, offenders caught using their phones while driving are liable to a fine of up to $1,000 and/or up to six months in jail.
