Driver sent to hospital after container truck overturns at Jurong Port Rd
The driver of a container truck was injured after the vehicle he was driving flipped onto its side while he was trying to make a U-turn at Jurong Port Road this morning (Mar 13).
Stomper Saravanan was in the area getting his tyres changed at a nearby workshop when it happened.
According to Saravanan, the incident happened at 9am and the driver had injured his head after his vehicle fell on its side.
"I saw him being taken away by an ambulance," said Saravanan.
A crane was called in to lift the truck back onto its wheels again.
"The operation caused a massive jam at Jurong Port Road.
"I think the jam has been going on for around two hours already," Saravanan added.
At 12.20pm, the crane was still in the process of lifting the truck.
A police spokesperson provided Stomp with the following lines:
"On Mar 13, 2017 at 8.02am, the police were alerted to an accident involving a trailer truck at Jurong Port Road towards AYE before Jalan Buroh.
"A 27-year-old male truck driver was conscious when he was conveyed to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital.
"Police investigations are ongoing."
