A diner was baffled to be charged $8.54 for a vegetarian meal at Koufu food court at KK Women's and Children's Hospital on July 21.

This was after a 20 per cent staff discount.

Stomper Queenie said: "I bought bee hoon kway teow with two mock meats and one vegetable. After the staff discount, it still cost me more than double the price I would have paid outside.

"I tried contacting Koufu about an internal investigation but did not hear back from them. It feels like no one is taking care of the feedback even though I raised it to them via Facebook Messenger and their proper channels."

On Aug 7, Queenie sent Stomp photos of her food, receipt and attempts to reach Koufu on Facebook.

According to a picture of Queenie's bill, it seems that she had been charged $4.80 for a porridge that she did not order.

In response to a Stomp query, Koufu said it replied to the customer via email on July 21, "the same day she submitted her feedback".

"However, we have not yet received a response from her yet," a spokesperson added. "We have since reached out to her via Facebook Messenger to follow up on this matter.

"We have also investigated the matter and found that the stall accidentally keyed in an extra 'Eight Treasure Porridge', which resulted in the overcharge. We have offered her a refund for the excess amount."

Queenie confirmed with Stomp that she received a refund on Aug 13.
