Delivery rider apologises after Hougang prata place accused him of stealing food, says he did it for his family
A Deliveroo rider who stole more than $150 worth of food has apologised, according to the prata place he had allegedly stolen from.
Stomper Mohamed of Al-Falah Restaurant at Hougang Avenue 8 said the rider went back to the eatery on May 15 and apologised after seeing a post on the restaurant's Facebook page accusing him of theft.
The May 15 post, which included a video of the rider, has since been removed.
The Stomper explained: "The rider would accept the order and show it to us in the shop. After that, he would take the order, leave and just cancel the order. Another rider would then come for the same order."
The rider did it three times, most recently on May 10, alleged the Stomper.
"He said he did it for his family. No food."
The Stomper added that no police report was made and the rider had accepted the mistake.
