Are realistic toy guns allowed in public? Stomper spots this Halloween costume at The Verge

Stomper Leo spotted this "interesting" Halloween costume today (Oct 28) at around 2pm. He was at the Verge, a mall located at Serangoon Road.

The Stomper said: "I saw this couple in their Halloween costumes and it's probably part of the mall's event."

"But isn't it an offence to even carry a toy gun or rifle, let alone in a public place?" He said.

According to the Singapore Customs website, "toy guns, pistols and revolvers" are labelled as "controlled goods" and one would need a permit before it is brought into Singapore. The law also states that toy firearms should also not be carried in public places.
