$1.50 for cups of 'air and ice'? Stomper calls drink trend a bad influence
A Stomper was surprised to see cups of ice selling for $1.50 each at a 7-Eleven outlet in Chong Pang, questioning whether convenience has gone too far.
He shared a photo with Stomp showing cups of ice taking up two shelves in a standing freezer.
"Nowadays people are so spoilt by convenience that they are selling cups of air and ice for $1.50."
"The same price can get you a bottle of Pokka iced coffee or iced green tea at Cheers or a local grocery store."
He added that he heard local stores starting selling cups of ice after Korean convenience stores started the trend.
"Bad influence on TikTok gets youths to buy cups of ice to do some drink 'hack' by mixing and matching drinks together," he said.
A search on the video sharing platform returns several drink combinations, including a chocolate and banana concoction that went viral last year.
Would you pay $1.50 for a cup of ice?
