'You have enough kids on your hands': Xiaxue calls out Simonboy over 'Forever Megan' kids' charity project

Controversial influencer Xiaxue has called out content creator Simonboy over his new Forever Megan Charity project, saying he should focus on his own children.

Simonboy, whose real name is Simon Khung, is the father of Megan Khung, who died in Feb 2020 at the age of four. Megan endured months of abuse by her mother, Foo Li Ping, from whom Mr Khung was estranged, and her mother's then-boyfriend Brian Wong, who delivered the fatal punch.

The influencer has said he hopes to focus on serving children in the community first, before eventually supporting the elderly.

On her Instagram stories on Nov 12, Xiaxue shared a screenshot of former Straits Times news editor Bertha Henson's repost of a CNA article that said Simonboy was "unfazed" by online criticism over his latest initiative. "I donno how to react to this except ask what sort of father he was to Megan," said Ms Henson.

"Glad he is unfazed," wrote Xiaxue, whose real name is Wendy Cheng. "Three kids with three different moms. First child he neglected for 11 years and met the kid for the first time in 2024. Made sure to document it on social media and for the news."

'You have enough kids on your hands'

Ms Cheng noted that his second child had passed, and that his third child has just been born. "I think you have enough kids on your hands," she wrote, adding that he did not need to "bother" himself with taking care of other people's children for now.

In an earlier Instagram story, she shared a screenshot of a comment that read: "The real heroes are the fathers who stayed clean, earned an honest day's wage, loved and remained faithful to their wives and family. And they continue to do this without any form of media attention."

The caption on the post reads: "Correct."

Netizens divided

Since Mr Khung's latest initiative was announced, netizens have been divided over the charity's name.

A commenter wrote that Mr Khung has been "using every opportunity," with others slamming him for "milking" his daughter's death.

"Why are you capitalising on your own daughter's tragic death?" a user questioned.

Others called the initiative a "good gesture" and praised him for trying to give back to society.

'I don't think anything should stop me'

Simonboy first posted about the Forever Megan Charity on his social media accounts on Nov 6.

In an interview with CNA on Nov 10, Mr Khung said his "main motive" behind the Forever Megan Charity is to honour his daughter.

"I don't think anything should stop me," he said, despite knowing that naming the charity after his daughter would invite "social media repercussions" and attract "unnecessary" comments.

"To me, children are children," Mr Khung told CNA, who visited Good Samaritan Home, an orphanage in Klang, Malaysia in August under the new initiative.

Mr Khung, who was jailed for drug offences and assault from 2015 to 2016, and 2017 to 2019, has acknowledged his criminal past: "As a drug addict, I failed people."
