A 39-year-old South Korean woman was caught allegedly trying to smuggle e-vaporisers, related components and tobacco sticks into Singapore on Nov 23.

Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) officers had asked the woman, who held a Singapore employment pass, if she had anything to declare during baggage screening at Changi Airport Terminal 3.

The woman declared nothing and proceeded with screening of her belongings, ICA said in a Facebook post on Nov 25.

Officers uncovered two e-vaporisers, more than 50 e-vaporiser pods and over 1,200 heat sticks (heat-not-burn tobacco) among her belongings.

The case was referred to the Health Sciences Authority for further investigations.

ICA said: "Border security is a crucial aspect of the enforcement strategy against e-vaporisers. As guardians of the nation's borders, ICA remains committed to safeguarding Singapore by ensuring our borders remain safe and secure."
