Real estate agent rescues chicks stuck in Yishun drain after last-minute flat viewing cancellation

A real estate agent found himself involved in an unexpected rescue mission in Yishun after his flat viewing was cancelled at the last minute.

The agent, who goes by Zameer Serlan, recalled hearing "screaming" from a distressed mother quail as well as chirping from a nearby drain, piquing his curiosity.

Mr Serlan soon realised that several chicks had fallen into the drainage channel. Together with another woman, he manages to rescue two of them.

Upon discovering more chicks trapped deeper in the storm drain, the agent went home to change before returning to help.

He later climbed into the storm drain to rescue the two remaining chicks.

In contrast to the two earlier rescues, which he rated one and four out of 10, Mr Serlan found the last two rescues significantly more challenging, rating them six and 8.9 out of 10.

All four chicks were placed in a cardboard box and purportedly fed hamster food before being reunited with their mother.

"It was God's plan to put me there because he knows that I'd do whatever it takes to rescue them," he wrote in the post's caption.

Mr Serlan added, "What an adventure Yishun has gotta offer. I love Yishun."

It is unclear when or where exactly the incident occurred.

Mr Serlan's Instagram post on Jan 25 documenting the rescue has garnered more than 134,000 views, 10,700 reactions and 200 comments.
