Rat spotted at Lucky Plaza food court: 'Definitely not the first time'

Published

A video and still images of a rat nibbling on leftovers at a food court before being swiftly and nonchalantly removed by a worker, has left netizens wondering if it is a common occurrence.

The 18-second video – believed to have been filmed at the basement food court in Lucky Plaza – was shared on Reddit and starts with a seated man filming the rodent on a plate of food.

As it moves away, the man gets up while a woman retrieves her belongings. A worker holding a table cloth then comes into the frame, expertly grabs the mouse, and walks away.

Images from the incident were also shared on Facebook group Complaint Singapore by @Setia W with the caption: "Rat fell from the sky while people were eating. Location at Lucky Plaza."

No indication of when this happened was provided on either post.

'Definitely not the first time'

Netizens pointed out how casually the worker grabbed the rat in a single, well-practised move. "The way he catch the rat … definitely not the first time," said a Redditor.

"Lucky Plaza?" asked a Redditor, which prompted the retort: "Lucky I don't dine there."

"Poor Ratatouille just got off work and has to deal with the paparazzi," remarked a Redditor in jest, alluding to the Disney animated film.
