'Please!': TikToker appeals for help after mynah gets stuck on bench
A mynah was spotted trapped on a public bench, prompting a TikToker to appeal for help online.
In a 16-second clip shared on TikTok, the bird could be seen struggling to free itself.
The video, filmed at Block 129 Lorong Ah Soo on Nov 2 at around 5.30pm, was captioned "Please!" and posted by @tanyafaithh.
At press time, the clip had garnered more than 36,800 views, 435 reactions, and 47 comments.
Throughout the incident, the TikToker claimed in her post that she tried to reach animal welfare group Animal Concerns Research and Education Society (Acres) for assistance but was initially unable to get through.
She later commented: "Okay guys, I managed to contact them, but I don't know if they will really follow up!"
Before help could arrive, she said she had to leave to attend other commitments.
Mynah missing when Acres arrived
In the comment section of her TikTok post, she shared screenshots of a conversation with Acres, which showed that the mynah was no longer on the bench when Acres arrived at the scene on the night of Nov 2.
It remains unclear when the mynah was removed or how it was taken away.
However, marks and a feather left behind on the bench indicated the mynah had struggled, while Acres suggested that the white marks were likely the bird's droppings.

Mixed reactions online as netizens debate mynah rescue
Netizens expressed concern for the mynah, though some poked fun at the TikToker for mistaking the bird for a pigeon.
Comments included: "Bird blindness…", "It is a chicken lah", and "Is it a parrot?"
At the same time, one netizen praised the TikToker, writing: "Beautiful girl with beautiful heart," applauding her efforts to draw attention to the bird's plight.
Some users expressed skepticism about Acres attending to the bird.

One commented: "Usually for pigeons or mynahs, Acres sadly won't attend to it" and added that even if they did, "they may put it to sleep".
A user claiming to be an Acres volunteer dismissed this notion, saying the organisation is "the only one in Singapore that rescues mynahs and pigeons actually".
Stomp has reached out to Acres for comment.
