Motorcyclist taken to hospital after rear-end collision with lorry on TPE
A motorcyclist was flung onto the road after he collided with a lorry along an expressway, narrowly escaping being run over by other vehicles.
The accident occurred on Oct 18 at about 1.55pm along the Tampines Expressway (TPE) towards the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE), after the Elias Road exit.
Footage of the incident was captured by a car's dashboard camera and posted on the Facebook page SG Road Vigilante.
The video shows a motorcycle travelling in the first lane before attempting to switch to the second lane. During the lane change, it hits the back of a lorry.
The impact sends the rider falling backwards onto the road, as an oncoming car narrowly avoids running him over by braking in time.
In response to queries from The New Paper, the police confirmed an accident involving a motorcycle and a lorry.
A 23-year-old male motorcyclist was conscious when taken to hospital, while the 51-year-old male lorry driver is assisting with investigations.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said one person was conveyed to Changi General Hospital.
