'Mini surgery in sky': SIA passengers watch as cabin crew tape up dripping overhead compartment
Passengers on a Singapore Airlines (SIA) flight witnessed an unusual sight when water began dripping from an overhead compartment - prompting the cabin crew to use masking tape to contain it.
In a 48-second TikTok clip posted by @adelinebabyyy, the cabin crew can be seen patching up the leak with tape and scissors.
The TikToker claimed they were unsure of the source of the dripping water at the time and assumed it was "condensation from cold weather".
At the end of the flight, the TikToker received a $75 KrisShop voucher as compensation.

'$75 too little: Netizen
"I would have asked for 100,000 KrisFlyer miles or a free upgrade on my next flight," one netizen commented, while many agreed that the voucher was insufficient compensation.
"Is it still considered number one in Singapore?" one netizen quipped.
For service recovery vouchers, one netizen recommended using them "right on the spot from onboard duty free instead of leaving the aircraft then go online purchase / duty free shops upon arrival", noting that this would maximise their value.
"The one time we saw cockroach on our entertainment screen, they offered 150SGD per person on KrisFlyer shop," said one netizen, adding: "Me and hub both bought perfume each as a memory."
"I will ask for mini umbrella hat," one netizen joked.
Another said in jest: "It's SQ water very precious can bottle it and sell for money."
'No safety risk': SIA spokesperson
In response to queries from Stomp, an SIA spokesperson clarified that the water leak was caused by a passenger's bottle.
The spokesperson added that cabin crew quickly cleaned the compartment, contained the dripping, and assisted passengers with towels and blankets.
"SIA sincerely apologises to the affected customers for the inconvenience caused."
