Free haircuts for foreign workers

The man, who only wished to be known as Aidan, told Stomp that the haircuts took place at a factory called Tuas Lot. He was invited by the owner of one of the shipyard companies who chanced upon his TikTok content.

The 27-year-old digital marketing professional started the initiative in Nov after nearly a decade of cutting hair as a side hustle. He also runs a digital barber shop called Francesco's Barber Club — a social service aimed at "blessing the less fortunate and having honest conversations".

Referring to his latest video with the foreign workers, Aidan said that he attempted to ask the workers about issues such as their living conditions and pay, but they could only "express gratitude and thankfulness, which is something that really surprised me."

"A big smile and a true sense of gratitude — which I give back in return — gives me a [sic] great sense of satisfaction in serving others," he said.

'Kind soul'

Netizens were inspired by Aidan's gesture, with many lauding his kindness.

"A kind soul," one wrote, while others said the video made them emotional.

"watching [sic] this vid made me start the day right," said another.

Yet another said: "Crying at 8am. Thank you for sharing your kindness."
