An MRT commuter's efforts to clean up a spill in a crowded cabin has warmed the hearts of netizens, who lavished praise on him.

A video shared by TikTok user @iisisnarti1 shows the man helping a woman who is holding on to a plastic bag. It is unclear where and when the incident took place, but the man is then seen wiping up the liquid from the floor of the cabin with what appears to be a red-coloured rag.

A similar post with still images of the incident was also shared on Facebook page Singapura Channel, and netizens had many plaudits for him. "Responsible person. Hard to find one like him (these) days," said a Facebook user.

"He is very kind to help clean up, the spilled water can cause people to slip and fall," said another.

Some wondered how fluids were taken into the train and how it was spilled, while others speculated that he was a foreign national, with one commenter suggesting he was from Myanmar. "He must be foreigner that works in Singapore ... most of the foreigners have humanity and good heart."
