A man was recently filmed eating a full meal on the MRT, following earlier incidents of passengers eating and drinking on the subway.

Shin Min Daily News reported that the clip showed a man eating and seemingly unfazed by the stares of other commuters.

The man is dressed in what appears to be office attire, with a large suitcase clamped between his legs and a backpack resting on his thighs.

With the bowl of cooked food perched on top of the backpack, the man, who is wearing headphones, eats with plastic utensils, seemingly oblivious to the other passengers.

The video also shows other passengers sitting next to the man, while the train broadcast system announces, "Next stop, Bugis."

The video had garnered 1,200 likes and 500 comments at press time.

Netizens slammed the man for eating on the train, saying he disregarded transport rules and the cleanliness of the train.

Others defended him, suggesting he might have been in a rush and was just trying to eat to satisfy his sheer hunger.

Earlier in September, a woman was caught drinking beer on the MRT, while a man who "challenged" himself to drink water on the train led to SMRT filing a police report.

According to the Rapid Transit Systems Regulations, eating or drinking in MRT stations is prohibited and offenders may be liable for a $500 fine.
