The police on June 6 arrested a 46-year-old man over his suspected involvement in the online sale of counterfeit goods.

The man was nabbed during raids in Bukit Merah and Delta Avenue, where the police found more than 4,700 allegedly fake items, they said in a news release on June 10.

These items, including bags, accessories, pouches, cosmetics, household items and stationery, have an estimated street value of more than $141,000.

Police investigations are ongoing.

Those convicted of possessing goods with falsely applied trademarks for the purpose of trade may be fined up to $100,000, jailed for up to five years, or both.
