A police report has been lodged after a lorry driver confronted a bus driver, repeatedly jabbing his finger at him while hurling insults.

In response to queries from Stomp, SBS Transit spokesperson Grace Wu said that the incident occurred on the evening of March 29, when a Service 88 bus was travelling along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3.

As the bus approached one of the bus stops, the driver alerted vehicles ahead not to stop within the bus stop zone.

A commotion later broke out when a lorry driver boarded the bus and directed verbal abuse at the bus driver. The incident lasted about two minutes before the bus resumed its journey, said Mrs Wu.

TikTok user @kbsebelas shared a video of the dispute, showing a man jabbing a finger at the bus driver repeatedly before being ushered off the bus by a woman.

After alighting, he continues to berate the driver. A motorcyclist boards and speaks to the bus driver, pointing towards the lorry driver, before alighting as well.

The bus driver exits the vehicle and is seen making a phone call as the clip ends.

Mrs Wu added that a police report has been lodged in relation to the incident.

‘No need to react to that extent’: Netizens express disapproval

The viral video garnered over 142,400 views, as many netizens expressed disapproval of the lorry driver’s behaviour.

“Just make a report if the driver is at fault, no need to use vulgarities to abuse the bus captain,” one netizen pointed out.

Others agreed that there was “no need to react to that extent”.

Several urged motorists to give way to the bus, pointing out that it was a bus lane, while a number of netizens called for authorities to take action.

According to the OneMotoring website, vehicles are prohibited from stopping within nine metres of a bus stop. Drivers of light and heavy vehicles face fines of $70 and $100 respectively for their first offences.
