Influencer 'accidentally' drops $11k on Dior advent calendar, says there are only 2 in Singapore

An influencer who claims she "accidentally" bought an $11,250 Dior advent calendar has gone viral, dividing netizens over the ultra-luxe splurge.

The TikToker, known as Grace Glazzee for her beauty and lifestyle content, said she bought the limited-edition La Malle des Rêves Holiday Calendar after seeing that it was "a fancy one" that was "on a whole other level".

According to Dior's website, only 120 pieces exist worldwide. Grace said just two units were available in Singapore.

Her shock came when three butlers showed up at her doorstep, carrying what turned out to be a 50kg vanity-style cabinet with 24 drawers - a contraption she said was more "furniture" than calendar.

Her unboxing series, first posted on Nov 13, walked viewers through the drawers of calendar No. 78/120.

Her TikTok video has since racked up more than 7 million views, 563,000 likes and more than 6,200 comments.

'Should at least come with Jisoo': Netizen

While Grace was thrilled with the contents - full-sized fragrances, a pair of earrings, an exclusive snow globe, hair mists, a scented candle and candle accessories - others zoomed in on the less impressive items, including two sets of tree ornaments.

Many viewers were stunned at the price, with some quipping that for $11,250, the set should at least come with Jisoo, Dior's global ambassador.

"Hmm where's the gold necklace for 11k," said one.

Others hoped for skincare products or bags.

"This unhealed me from the Vogue advent calendar," one commenter said, as users recalled past advent-calendar disappointments, including Chanel's famous $1,150 version in 2021.

"You basically got all of their overstock perfumes and paper for the retail price," one user said, while others estimated the production cost and claimed it was a "4,400%-22,000% markup".

However, Grace's follow-up videos on the free gifts that came with her purchase softened some opinions, with many saying the bonuses made the price tag "more worth it".

Among the gifts: a Rubik's cube, mini fragrances, a Dior comb, make-up bag, pouches and travel jewellery cases.

"Those weren't free gifts. Those are what made it all worth up to $11k," said a commenter.

"Lowkey the free gifts are better than the advent calendar," added another.

"They probably gave you all the free gifts because they feel bad about the calendar," joked a user.
