There will be no school on May 5 for all primary and secondary schools, junior colleges, Millennia Institute and MOE Kindergartens, as the day has been designated a school holiday.

Classes will resume on May 6, the Ministry of Education (MOE) said on April 16.

Polling Day for the general election was officially designated a public holiday by the Ministry of Manpower, following the issuance of the Writ of Election on April 15.

As the Polling Day this year falls on May 3, which is a Saturday, MOE has declared May 5 to be a school holiday and a day off-in-lieu for all staff at the MOE schools.
