A fight broke out after a man allegedly dropped a used tissue into another diner's meal at a food court, as police were called to the scene.

According to Shin Min Daily News, the incident occurred on Jan 3 at around 2pm, at a Koufu outlet located in Toa Payoh HDB Hub. It involved two men who got into a physical altercation, with several customers caught in the middle.

Other diners only found out about the incident after seeing several police officers patrolling nearby.

Verbal dispute turned physical

When Shin Min reporters visited the scene, several police officers were spotted outside the food court, but the mess caused by the fight had already been cleaned up.

The Koufu outlet's manager, 39-year-old Mr Du, confirmed that a dispute broke out between two diners at a table being shared by a middle-aged man and a couple.

A stall owner claimed that the fight began after the middle-aged man dropped a wad of tissue into the other man's food. Another stall employee said she was shocked when a bowl was smashed on the ground in front of the stall.

Videos of the incident showed both parties pushing and shoving one another.

"During the physical altercation, some rice even flew onto other diners, but no one was injured," Mr Du said. However, by the time he showed up, and police arrived at the scene, both diners had already left.
