In the caption, the TikTok user joked: "Hello police. Does your intern need help with IT? What is it supposed to project??"

It is unclear how long the error message was visible.

Several netizens expressed concern, wondering if the system had been hacked.

Others blamed the contractors, or questioned which authority was responsible for the digital displays.

"It's been like that for months," one netizen observed, while another suggested the screen was just being used to display police advertisements.

Stomp has reached out to coskirah for comment.

The police declined to comment.
