'Engineering-level improvisation': Rigged pole lets pedestrians press traffic light button despite barriers
Construction barriers may have put a traffic light button out of reach, but an innovative pole setup made up for it - and caught the attention of many netizens.
Posted on Nov 6, a 10-second video captioned, "Not gonna lie that's some engineer-level improvisation" had garnered more than 113,200 views, 6,308 reactions and 62 comments at press time.
In the clip, a simple pole setup allows pedestrians to press the button, easily overcoming the barriers placed around it.
'Finally an innovation that works': Netizen
While it was unclear where the setup was placed or who was responsible for it, one netizen suggested that it was around Kovan.
"Conclusion: don't need scholars to come up with solutions that work," one user remarked.
Another lamented: "And when they change these to touch screens… you can't do this anymore."
One cheeky commenter suggested dropping the pole on the ground so that no one could press the button anymore.
