'Dedicated to the neighbouhood's furry friend': Queenstown mural of community cat goes viral
A mural in Queenstown featuring a community cat has gone viral, with netizens praising the muralist and gushing over the feline.
An 11-second clip, posted by @thaarminmusic on TikTok, had gained over 149,800 views and 42,500 likes at press time.
The video shows a mural painted on a wall, depicting a calico cat lounging in a garden against a blue background. The camera pans to the real-life cat, which is sitting on a ledge behind the painting.
In response to queries from Stomp, Thaarmin, who posted the video, said he thought the mural was "visually appealing" and that it added "colour and vibrancy to the area".

Although the 20-year-old singer-songwriter did not personally encounter the cat prior to the video, he felt the mural was "a show of love" for the community cat.
"I found it endearing that there is something dedicated to one of the neighbourhood's furry friends," he said.

"I have petted her before! She's really sweet, I think she has an owner, though," said @emily_w_grace,
Others praised the artwork. "That's so sweet. The muralist did a beautiful job," one user commented.
