A fire involving a personal mobility aid (PMA) broke out at Block 641 Ang Mo Kio Ave 4 on Nov 4.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to the fire at the eighth-floor lift lobby at around 11.15pm and extinguished it with a water jet.

"About 200 people evacuated from the affected block as a precautionary measure," SCDF said in a Facebook post on Nov 5.

Four people were assessed for smoke inhalation and taken to Singapore General Hospital.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

SCDF reminded: "Motorised devices which are modified, not properly maintained, or charged using non-original chargers pose a fire risk."
