Twenty people were evacuated after a fire broke out at the Home Team Career Centre on June 6.

The incident took place at the centre's premises in 178 Neil Road at about 11.55am and involved a battery rack inside an uninterruptible power supply room on the first floor, said the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF).

SCDF officers extinguished the fire using a water jet. One person was taken to Singapore General Hospital after being assessed for smoke inhalation, SCDF added.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The Home Team Career Centre is a resource hub for careers within the Ministry of Home Affairs and its related agencies.
