11 Bangladeshis, 1 Myanmarese arrested for drug offences in Woodlands workers' dorm
A total of 12 foreigners, aged between 23 and 40, were arrested for suspected drug-related offences at a workers' dormitory in Woodlands from Nov 27 to 28.
Eleven of the men were Bangladeshis and one was from Myanmar.
Led by the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB), the enforcement operation involved officers from the police, Ministry of Manpower, Immigration and Checkpoints Authority and Health Sciences Authority.
CNB Superintendent Xanthus Tong, Deputy Commanding Officer of Enforcement J, said: "This operation is part of our law enforcement efforts against drug abuse and trafficking and other criminal and illicit activities.
"Such activities will not be tolerated and those involved will be dealt with accordingly."
Under the Misuse of Drugs Act, it is an offence for a person to traffic in a controlled drug.
Investigations into the drug activities of all the arrested suspects are ongoing.
