Welcome to Stomping Ground - a space where Stompers share reflections, personal essays and social commentaries that spark conversation and insight.

A frustrated commuter has called out what he describes as a daily occurrence of queue-cutting at Toa Payoh Bus Interchange.

Stomper KhoJoo said some commuters regularly stand between the two queues for bus services 8 and 90, waiting to board whichever bus arrives first.

"Is queuing outside the line a privilege or entitlement? It seems to be a daily affair for some," KhoJoo told Stomp on Nov 11.

"There are always people standing between bus services 8 and 90 waiting for whichever boards first - armed with super thick skin. They will cut in front."

He added that some passengers have confronted the queue-cutters before, but arguments often follow.

"This happens every day. Most of us have given up hope of trying to tell them off," he said. "We just avoid confrontation and bear with it for a peaceful morning."

KhoJoo urged the bus company to address the situation.

"They should either deploy staff to control the queues or shift the two services further apart to prevent these unethical people from cutting in," he said.
