Stomper finds Montfort Junior School teachers he last saw 30 years ago after Stomp report
A man who reached out to Stomp in June hoping to find his long-lost teachers has finally reunited with all three of them after more than 30 years.
The Stomper, who attended Montfort Junior School in 1993, initially reached out to Stomp in hopes of finding Ms Serena Chow, Mr Mohamed Musa, and Mr Nurisham Ismail - educators who played a "meaningful role" in his formative years.
Since then, his story has come full circle.
In October, Ms Serena Chow, who is currently based in Malaysia, came across the Stomp article and contacted the team. Stomp has since connected her directly with her former student.
Separately, thanks to a local Malay-centric podcast Talk Folks, the Stomper also managed to locate his other two teachers, Mr Musa and Mr Nurisham.
"During my guest appearance on TalkFolks, I talked about my wish to reconnect with Mr Nurisham and Mr Musa, who both taught and shaped me more than 30 years ago," he said.
"To my surprise, the episode resonated deeply with listeners, and within days, leads started coming in. It was through this community response that I found Mr Nurisham, and that connection eventually led me to Mr Musa as well."
The Stomper said meeting both teachers in person after three decades was a profoundly emotional moment.
"It felt like closing a meaningful chapter, and beginning a new one filled with gratitude and respect," he said.
"I'm happy to see that they are both well and in good health.
"I am now looking forward to connecting with Ms Serena Chow."
The Stomper added that he remains grateful to Stomp for publishing the original story that started his search.
"Your support gave this journey its first push, and I sincerely appreciate it," he said.
