YOLO Run to be held across Southeast Asia, promises to rid shirtless participants of 'labels, stereotypes and body insecurities'
It seems as that themed runs are here to stay, from The Music Run held at Sentosa in April to the Reebok Spartan Race which just came to pass in May.
In Thailand, a new trend of themed run is emerging.
Promising to rid contestants of labels, stereotypes and body insecurities is the Bangkok’s YOLO Run.
Yes, that’s right a YOLO run.
For those of you unfamiliar, YOLO is a widely used abbreviation for cliche verse, 'you only live once'.
The run is scheduled to take place on Sept 10, 2017, reports Coconuts Bangkok.
It will reportedly take place all over Southeast Asia, from Thailand to Singapore and Hong Kong, featuring shirtless runners in a celebration of life truly in the carpe diem spirit.
The organisers of the race, Singapore-based garment manufacturer, X-Change Republic, said that profits from the race will go towards charity.
In addition, X-Change Republic pledges THB80 (S$3.20) to the Queen Sirikit Centre Breast Cancer Foundation for every participant.
The race will also reportedly end with a yoga session in a park.
