A Shopee collection point in Woodlands has drawn concern after the operator pasted notices listing buyers' names and partial phone numbers for uncollected parcels.

Stomper Anonymous alerted Stomp to the notices after receiving an alert to collect her parcel at the Woodlands Street 13 unit.

She also expressed worry over the operator telling her that her parcel would not get lost outside because she 'got CCTV'.

She sent Stomp screenshots of the estate's group chat in which the collection point owner posts messages looking for parcel recipients.

One resident advised the collection point owner to 'follow the protocol' and return them if buyers fail to collect their parcels.

Shopee told Stomp that collection points operate under strict guidelines to protect buyer information, such as mobile numbers, which should not be displayed publicly.

In response to a Stomp query, a Shopee spokesperson said: "We value the feedback from residents and appreciate their support in helping us keep our services running smoothly.

"Residential collection points are meant to bring convenience to the community, and we work closely with operators to follow strict guidelines on handling buyer information.

"Operations at this collection point have been temporarily paused while we work with the operator to review processes and ensure they remain compliant with our requirements."

When asked how she feels about the Shopee collection point pausing operations, the Stomper said: "I feel it's safer. Whether the parcel is collected or not, the collection point operator does not need to look for owners as they will still be paid."

In July, another Shopee residential collection point received flak for getting buyers to collect their parcels from a rack outside the Bedok flat.

Shopee paused operations to review the set-up.
